BIM one was engaged as AECOM's specialist subconsultant for the delivery of the utilities coordination and design scope, during the Preliminary and Detailed Design phase for the Mount Lindesay Highway Upgrade between Johanna Street and South Street.
The scope of the project involved an upgrade to the highway through Jimboomba, with key features including:
- Widening the highway to 4 lanes
- Construction of a new southbound bridge over the disused rail corridor
- Upgraded/improved intersections at Johanna Street, Tamborine Street and South Street, Brisbane Street
- Building a new shared pedestrian and bike underpass along the disused rail corridor
- Relocating the Mount Lindesay Highway access to and from Brisbane Street (service road)
The BIM one team was responsible for:
- all consultation with and coordination of the relevant utility authorities in the form of written and verbal correspondence, and face-to-face meetings
- interpretation of the existing data sets including BYDA, as-con drawings, GIS and survey
- interdisciplinary coordination with the AECOM design team
- conflict identification
- preparation of site investigation brief
- space-proofing for relocation designs
- detailed relocation / protection designs
- obtaining cost estimates for relocations / protection treatments from utility authorities
- preparation of a Design Report, Drawings and 12d model
- preparation of Supplementary Specifications and a Schedule of Rates for the TIC-CO contract
